Thursday forecast – heavy rain later

Good afternoon Western Isles on this Wednesday evening we are seeing some rain across the Uists and Barra. Drier for lewis and Harris with a mixture of clear skies and cloud. Today’s high of 10.3C and winds are under 20 mph.

Overnight – A mainly fine and dry night with a few scattered showers. Some clear skies and variable amounts of cloud. Winds of 10 to 30 mph gusting 40 mph for the Uists and Barra.

Morning. – Rain will move into South Uist and Barra and will extend Northward and become heavier. We are going to see sunshine and dry conditions for Lewis and Harris with the odd scattered shower. Winds of 20 to 30 mph with some gusts reaching 40 mph.

Afternoon and evening – The rain extends into all areas and will be heavy at times. Slow moving and eventually clearing as the evening goes on. Some light rain and drizzle with a mixture of clear skies and cloud. Winds of 20 to 30 mph gusting 40 mph.

Winds will be from the South East and South West. Temps of 6C to 11C
