Good afternoon and welcome to Wednesday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.
On this Wednesday afternoon we are seeing a few scattered showers. A mixture of clear skies and cloud. Today high of 10.3C so far today. Winds gusting 20 to 30 mph strongest for the Uists and Barra.

Western Isles forecast – (UK forecast to follow)
Thursday – A fine and dry start to the day on Thursday for the Western Isles. an area of low pressure will move in off the Atlantic. Here 985 mb. We are going to see some morning sunshine. Cloud will increase with rain moving in during the afternoon and this will be heavy at times. It will clear away during the evening. Some mist and fog patches are possible. Winds will be gusting 30 to 40 mph. Strongest of the winds for the Uists and Barra. WInds will be from the South West. Temps of 5C to 12C
Friday – Will be a much more settled day. We are going to see a mixture of sunshine and cloud. We are going to see brisk winds gusting 30 to 40 mph. A few scattered showers. Most of these will be in the morning. Winds will be from the South West and temps of 6C to 11C
Saturday – A lot of uncertainty as to where the area of low pressure will be. Some model guidance is suggesting a deep area of low pressure moving across the Western Isles bringing Strong winds and rain. However some model guidance is suggesting lighter winds with some rain. Hopefully we will have a clearer picture tomorrow.
Thursday rain will move across the UK with strong winds. Weather warnings have been issued more below. Friday more rain for Wales and South West England. Most of the UK will be fine and dry with sunshine and scattered showers. Low pressure in charge on Saturday with strong winds and heavy rain for most of the UK.

The Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings for rain for the end of the week. The warning for parts of England and Wales has been updates for Thursday.
