Weather Watch 31st October 2020

Good afternoon and welcome to Saturday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.

On this Saturday afternoon we are seeing rain and showers with some heavier spells of rain. Some blue skies and sunshine. Winds gusting 50 to 60 mph with a peak of 76 mph at South Uist range site. Todays high of 14.1C

Western Isles forecast – (UK forecast to follow)

Sunday – We are going to see another deep area of low pressure move past the Western Isles. This is a powerful area of low pressure which contains the remnants of Hurricane Zeta. It is likely that we are going to see winds gusting 50 to 60 mph. At times in the morning and early parts of the afternoon gusting 70 mph. The Uists and Barra could see for a time winds gusting 80 to 85 mph. Further spells of rain which will be heavy at times. Winds will be from the South West and temps of 6C to 11C but feeling colder in the wind chill.

Monday – We are going to see a blustery airflow setting up across the UK. Brisk winds gusting 30 to 40 mph. So much lighter then we have seen over the weekend. We are going to see a day of sunshine and showers. Winds will be from the West and South West and temps of 4C to 10C

Tuesday – A change is afoot. High pressure starts to build in and this will settle our weather slowly down from mid week onwards. However on Tuesday we are going to see remain in a brisk airflow across the Western Isles. A few scattered showers but most places becoming fine and dry with sunshine and winds gusting 20 to 30 mph from the North West. Temps of 4C to 10C

Sunday strong winds and heavy rain for most of the UK. With severe gales in the North West. Monday drier for South East England but further rain and showers for the rest. Tuesday morning showers becoming drier and brighter later with some coastal showers.
