Good afternoon and welcome to Wednesday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.
On this Wednesday afternoon seeing heavy rain sweeping across the Western Isles. Persistent in places. Winds gusting 40 mph in the Uists and Barra reaching 60 mph. Todays high of 12.5C so far.
A reminder we are under a Met Office yellow weather warning for rain until 0300 Thursday morning.

Western Isles forecast – (UK forecast to follow)
Thursday – Low pressure still dominates our weather. 960 mb by midday tomorrow. We are going to see a cold dry start. Heavy rain will move in during the afternoon and evening and we are going to see winds gusting 40 to 50 mph. Winds will be from the South and South West. Temps of 5C to 11C
Friday – We are going to see an area of low pressure sitting to our North West. Tight isobars which will result in strong winds. We are going to see a day of sunshine and showers. Winds gusting 40 to 50 mph. Possibly reaching 60 mph for the Uists and Barra. Winds will be from the South West. Temps of 5C to 11C
Saturday – The next area of low pressure will move into the Western Isles. We are going to see another windy day with winds gusting 30 to 40 mph at times reaching 50 mph. We are going to see some sunny spells but a few heavier spells of rain as the day goes on. Winds will be from the South East. Temps of 6C to 13C
Thursday a windy day with heavy rain sweeping in from the West. Most places in the East will be fine and dry with sunshine. Friday another windy day with a band of rain clearing across the UK before further rain arrives from the West later. Saturday we are going to see showery conditions and blustery winds.
