On this Wednesday morning, we are seeing some heavy and persistent rain sweeping across the Western Isles. There is quite a bit of surface water on the roads. The overnight low of 8C. Winds gusting to 20 mph.
Today – Further rounds of heavy rain during the morning and afternoon. This will become persistent at times. During the late morning and afternoon, we are going to see winds gusting 40 to 50 mph for the Uists and Barra gusting to 60 mph. Into the later afternoon and evening, we are going to see some light rain with some showers. Some sunny spells. Winds will ease under 30 mph. Winds will be from the South and South East. Then shifting to come from the North and North West later.
Thursday – A dry start and it will be chilly with cloud increasing. Spells of rain which will be heavy at times. Winds will increase gusting 30 to 40 mph at times reaching 50 mph possibly 60 mph later for the Uists and Barra.
Friday – Sunshine and showers with winds gusting 30 to 40 mph at times reaching 50 mph.
Saturday – Further spells of heavy rain. Winds gusting 40 to 50 mph.
