Sunday’s forecast – Lighter winds with rain and showers.

Good evening Western Isles on this Saturday evening we are seeing some heavy rain across much of Lewis and Harris. Drier for the Uists and Barra. Winds gusting 20 to 30 mph. Today’s high of 11C

We remain under Scottish Environment Protection Agency flood warnings and flood alerts for the Western Isles. More can be found via the SEPA website.

Overnight – We are going to see the heaviest of the rain clear away. We are going to see a mixture of clear skies and cloud. Further showers. Heavy at times. Winds will ease under 20 mph.

Morning and afternoon – Mainly dry with some decent spells of sunshine. Some showers fairly well scattered. These merging into some longer spells of rain later. Winds of 5 to 25 mph.

Evening – A mixture of clear skies and cloud. Some rain to start the evening. It will become showery and these heavy at times. Winds of 20 to 40 mph.

Winds will be from the West and South West. Coming in from the North West later. Temps of 7C to 11C

Monday – Winds of 30 to 40 mph with rain and showers.

Tuesday – Heavy and persistent rain with winds gusting 40 to 50 mph. Possibly 60 mph for a time for the Uists and Barra.

Wednesday – Further heavy rain and blustery winds.
