Weather Watch 14th November 2020

Good afternoon and welcome to Saturday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.

On this Saturday afternoon we are seeing mainly overcast conditions with some rain and drizzle in places. A few sunny spells. Winds. of 10 to 30 mph and todays max temp so far of 10C

Western Isles forecast – (UK forecast to follow)

Sunday – Low pressure dominates the weather across the UK with multiple areas of low pressure in play. Across the Western Isles on Sunday we are going to see some sunshine. There will be some showers around and these will be heavy at times. Some heavier rain moving in later in the day. Some decent spells of sunshine and variable amounts of cloud. Winds 5 to 30 mph. Easing as the day goes on. Winds will be from the South and South West coming in from the North West later. Temps of 7C to 12C

Monday – A transition day on Monday we are going to see low pressure moving away and the next area of low pressure builds out in the Atlantic. So a brisk airlow. We are going to see a mainly overcast day in the Western Isles. Spells of rain which will be heavy at times. Winds gusting 20 to 40 mph. Winds will be from the South and South West. Temps of 6C to 11C

Tuesday – The next area of low pressure moves in during Tuesday as the area of low pressure deepens 979 mb at midday. We are going to see strong winds gusting 40 to 50 mph for a time for the Uists and Barra we are likely to see winds gusting to 60 mph for the Uists and Barra. We are going to see some heavy rain. During the early hours of the day this rain will be persistent. Winds will be from the South West. Temps of 6C to 13C

UK forecast

Sunday rain heavy at times especially in the South East. Showers for most and strong winds in the South. Monday brisk winds with some further spells of rain. Again heavy at times. Tuesday heavy rain in the North West of Scotland fine and dry elsewhere with some sunshine with brisk winds.
