Weather Watch 15th November 2020

Good evening and welcome to Sunday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.

On this Sunday evening we are seeing a mainly fine and dry evening. Some light rain and drizzle. A mixture of clear skies and cloud. Winds under 15 mph and today’s high of 10.8C

A reminder we are under a Scottish Environment Protection Agency flood alert for the Western Isles and a flood warning for Stornoway

Western Isles forecast – (UK forecast to follow)

Monday – We are going to see a brisk airflow on Monday. Winds gusting 30 to 40 mph. We are going to see sunshine and showers. These heavy at times. Heavier rain will sweep across the Western Isles later in the day. Winds will ease under 20 mph for a time during the morning. Winds will be from the West and South West. Temps of 6c to 12C

Tuesday – We are going to see a rain sandwich. Heavy rain during the early hours of the day. With further heavy rain into the evening. Overcast with showers in between. Some sunny spells. Winds gusting 30 to 40 mph. During the early hours gusting 50 to 55 mph strongest over the Uists and Barra. Winds will be from the South West and temps of 8C to 13C

Wednesday – Low pressure dominates. We are going to see further spells of heavy and persistent rain. Becoming drier and brighter with sunshine and cloud later. Winds gusting 20 to 30 mph. Winds will be from the West and South West. Temps of 5C to 11C

Monday rain to start the day with showers clearing away as the morning goes on. Further rain arrives into the West later. Heaviest in North West Scotland and Northern Ireland. Tuesday heavy rain for the West coast Scotland. Drier for the South East of England with a few showers in between. Wednesday heavy rain for most. Strong winds in the North West of Scotland with snow on the hills.
