Good morning Western Isles this is your morning brief

We are under a Scottish Environment Protection Agency flood warnings and a flood alert. The full SEPA warnings and alerts can be found via the SEPA website.

On this Monday morning, we are seeing some rain and showers moving across the Western Isles. These are heavy in places. Winds gusting 30 to 45 mph. Overnight low of 7.7C

Today – We are going to see rain and showers around for the morning and afternoon. Before more rain sweeps across the island this evening. Mainly light rain this evening but will become heavier for a time before more heavier rain moves in as we go overnight into Tuesday. Some decent spells of sunshine in the breaks in the cloud. Winds of 20 to 40 mph.

Tuesday – Further spells of rain. Heavy at times. Winds gusting 40 mph for a time during the morning gusting to 60 mph across the Uists and Barra.

Wednesday – Heavy and persistent rain easing later in the day but light winds to start the day but increasing as the day goes on. Drier to end the day.

Thursday – A cold day with overcast conditions. Some early morning rain. Risk of frost and ice later in the day as temps dip close to or below freezing. The odd wintry shower cannot be ruled out.
