On this Mondays afternoon we are seeing rain and showers around. Plenty of cloud with some clear skies. Winds gusting 10 to 30 mph strongest for the Uists and Barra. Today’s high of 9.7C

Western Isles forecast – (UK forecast to follow)
Tuesday – Low pressure dominates our weather across the UK and the Western Isles. We are going to see heavy rain overnight. During Tuesday sunshine and showers heavy at times. Into the evening furter spells of rain. A lot of cloud. Winds of 20 to 40 mph. We could see some gusts reaching. 50 to 55 mph during the early hours of the morning. Winds will be from the South West. Temps of 8C to 13C
Wednesday – Low pressure sits close to the Western Isles. So the strongest of the winds will be further South. We are going to see winds gusting 30 to 40 mph. There be will be some heavy and persistent rain moving. across the islands. Some sunny spells. Winds will be from the South West. Temps of 5C to 12C
Thursday – As low pressure clears away. We are going to see cold air moving in. A brief ridge of high pressure builds in. We are going to see some rain and showers. These could be wintry at times. Temps will drop and we could see some frost and ice into the evening. It should become mainly dry. Temps of 0C to 9C. Winds gusting 40 mph but dropping under 10 mph to the end the day. Winds will be from the North and North East.
UK forecast
On Tuesday dry and brisk winds for most of the UK but heavy rain for the North West of Scotland. Wednesday rain for most with sunshine and showers. Further heavy rain for Scotland with snow on the hills. Thursday wintry showers with sleet and snow showers. Showers for the rest of the UK but clearing away and most places should be dry to end the day.
