Met Office yellow weather warning for wind and the flood risk for the Western Isles.

Good afternoon this is a special blog covering the Met Office wind warning and the flood alert from SEPA.

The weather warning issued by the Met Office covers parts of the Western isles. We could see some winds gusting 60 to 70 mph in the warning area outside the warning area winds gusting 40 to 50 mph. Winds coming down from the North which is a more unusual direction for strong winds for us.

The warning comes into force at 21:00 this evening and expires at 0300 Wednesday morning.

There will be a risk of coastal flooding in the next 24 hours

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency has updated the flood alert for the Western Isles.
