Weather Watch 20th November 2020

Good afternoon and welcome to Friday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.

On this Friday afternoon we are seeing rain and drizzle with strong winds. Overcast for most with drier conditions for the Uists and Barra. Highest temp of 7.4C and winds gusting 50 mph.

Western Isles forecast – (UK forecast to follow)

Saturday – We are going to see a windy day across the Western Isles. we are going to see a mixture of sunshine and showers. Low pressure sits the far north 959 mb. Winds are going to gusting 40 to 50 mph. Possibly gusting to 60 mph at times. Some of these showers will be heavy at times. Winds will be from the South West and temps of 5C to 12C

Sunday – The mobile weather conditions continue across the Western Isles. Low pressure moves away but we are still going to see brisk winds. Winds of 20 to 40 mph. A mixture of sunshine and showers across the Western Isles. Winds easing as the day goes on. Winds will be from the West and South West. Temps of 5C to 10C

Monday – Low pressure sits out in the Atlantic 982 mb. Its associated weather fronts will bring rain and blustery winds again. We are going to see Winds of 30 to 40 mph with spells of rain heavy at times. A chilly start to the day. Winds will be from the South and South West. Temps of 5C to 9C

UK forecast

Saturday showery for most with some sunshine. A dying cold front moves southwards across the UK. Strong winds for the North with the strongest across Orkney and Shetland. Sunday for most fine and dry with a few scattered showers. Sunshine. More showers in Scotland and stronger winds here. Monday blustery winds and rain for Scotland and Northern England direr for Southern England and wales.
