Weather Watch 22nd November 2020

Good afternoon and welcome to Sunday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.

On this Sunday afternoon we are seeing rounds of heavy and squally showers with rain, sleet and hail mixed in. Some clear skies but mainly overcast. Winds gusting 20 to 40 mph. Today’s high of 8.6C so far.

Western Isles forecast – (UK forecast to follow)

Monday – We are going to see a few overnight showers. Into Monday winds increase gusting 40 to 50 mph. Bands of rain heavy at times will move across the Western Isles. Winds ease 30 to 40 mph into the evening and the heavy rain clears away. The wind and rain is in association with two areas of low pressure in the Atlantic. Winds will be from the South West and temps of 5C to 11C

Tuesday – Things are a little more settled on Tuesday as low pressure clears away. We are going to see mainly overcast conditions. Some light rain and a few sunny spells. Most places should stay dry. Winds of 10 to 30 mph from the South West. Temps of 4C to 11C

Wednesday – High pressure builds across the Western Isles. We are going to see mainly fine and dry conditions. A few overnight showers. Plenty of sunshine and quite a bit of cloud. A few evening showers again variable amounts of cloud. Winds of 10 to 30 mph. Temps of 2C to 8C with a cold start to the day.

Monday heavy rain for Scotland and North Ireland. Strong winds here. A few scattered showers and sunshine for England and Wales. Tuesday rain for most away from the South East of England and snow for the mountains of Scotland. Wednesday some early morning rain which will clear away to fine dry and sunny conditions.
