Good afternoon and welcome to Thursday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.
On this Thursday afternoon mainly fine and dry for most but some patchy light rain and drizzle along the West coast. Today’s high of 8.8C so far. Winds gusting 20 to 30 mph.

Western Isles forecast – (UK forecast to follow)
Friday – Some patchy overnight rain. Further rain for tomorrow evening. It will be a mainly overcast day. Some patchy light rain but most places will be dry. Some hazy sunshine. High pressure remains in control. Winds will be light under 20 mph. A warm front moves across the Islands. Winds will be from variable directions. Temps of 5C to 9C
Saturday – High pressure dominates across the UK. Again another fairly overcast day across the Western isles. A little winder then on Friday winds of 10 to 30 mph. Some sunshine at times. It should be mainly dry but the odd patchy shower cannot be ruled out. Winds will be from the the South and South and South East. Temps of 5C to 9C
Sunday – High pressure declines across the Western Isles. Low pressure sits near Iceland. We are going to see brisk winds gusting 20 to 30 mph. A day of sunshine and cloud. A few scattered showers but most places will be dry. Winds will be from the South West. Temps of 5C to 11C
Friday fog and possibly freezing fog for parts of England and Wales more on this below. Some rain for South East England and North West Scotland. Sunshine and cloud for most. Saturday mainly fine dry and sunny with light winds and a few patchy showers. Sunday fine and dry with some rain in the North West of Scotland cold and chilly.
