Weather Watch 30th November 2020

Good afternoon and welcome to Monday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.

On this Monday afternoon we are seeing scattered showers these heavy in places. Plenty of blue skies and sunshine with variable amounts of cloud. Winds gusting to 20 mph to 40 mph. Today’s high so far of 10.2C

Western Isles forecast – (UK forecast to follow)

Tuesday – A low pressure systems sits over Iceland and a warm front moves across the UK on Tuesday. We are going to see an overcast day with some sunny spells. Some light rain and drizzle with some heavier rain moving in during the late evening. Winds of 10 to 30 mph some gusts reaching 40 mph in the late evening. Winds will be from the South West and temps of 4C to 10C

Wednesday – We are going to see a cold airflow setting up across the Western Isles on Wednesday. We are going to see frequent rain, sleet, snow and wintry showers moving across the Islands. Some sunny spells in between its going to feel very cold. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph for the Uists and Barra from the West and South West. Temps of 2C to 8C but it feel colder in the wind chill.

Thursday – Another cold day with sleet, snow and rain showers. We could see a dusting of snow for a time. Some sunny spells in between. Winds will be under 20 mph. Temps will struggle to get above 5C and mainly close to freezing. Feeling chill in the wind chill. Winds will be from the South West. Temps of -1C to 5C

Tuesday mainly fine and dry with rain moving later to the North West. Rain for most dry in the East. Wintry showers and snow for Scotland on Wednesday. Thursday wintry showers for most and snow over Scotland mountains.
