Good evening Western isles on this Tuesday evening we are seeing the band of rain moving across the Western Isles. Heavy in places. Not all parts are seeing the rain. Winds gusting 20 to 30 mph. Today’s high of 11C

Overnight – We are going to see showers moving across the Western isles these will become increasing wintry and squally. Some clear skies and it will become colder. Winds of 20 to 40 mph.
Morning and afternoon – In the morning rain and squally showers. These heavy and at time wintry with rain, sleet and snow. Turning increasingly to snow into the afternoon. Snow at times falling over higher ground. Some accumulations to lower levels at times. Some decent spells of sunshine in the breaks in the cloud. Wind of 20 to 40 mph.
Evening – Further showers and clear spells with wintry showers. Sleet and snow falling more widely to lower levels. Not all will see snow some will fall as rain. Some clear skies and frost and ice in places as temps drop further. Winds of 10 to 20 mph gusting 30 to 40 mph strongest for the Uists and Barra.
Winds will be from the West and South West. Temps of -1C to 8C but feeling -3/4C in the wind chill later.
