White Christmas forecast 2020 for the Western Isles. Number 2.

Hello and welcome to the second of our White Christmas forecast for 2020 for the Western Isles. So we are still in the very long range. Over 500 hours or in easier terms 3 weeks today till Christmas. We are still looking for trends at this stage. But come next Tuesday when the 3rd forecast comes online the model slowly come into range the GFS will be the first one and from that we can start to have more of an idea if we are going to see snow.

It is worth keeping in mind that most of the snow photos used in these updates are taken from across the years as we don’t that many white christmases in the Western Isles.

So after a spells of wintry weather the end of this week people have been getting excited about the prospect of a white Christmas this year. We are likely to see a few more days of cold weather before a more mobile and unsettled pattern towards the middle of the month. But looking at the longer range models over the last few days since the last forecast there are some hints we could see a more colder set up towards the end of the month and importantly towards Christmas. However it must be stated that this is a long way off as yet.

So at this stage not a great deal to go on but hoping to have more information for you next week

So at this stage I am suggesting we have a

50% chance of a White Christmas 2020
