Good afternoon and welcome to Sunday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.
On this Sunday afternoon we are seeing some lingering rain across Northern Lewis and this is heavy in places. Elsewhere a mixture of clear skies and cloud. Todays high of 7.6C. Winds under 10 mph.

Western Isles forecast – (UK forecast to follow)
Monday – A settled start to the week across the Western Isles. A cold night with risk of frost and ice in places. Mist and fog is possible in places. Winds will be light. A mixture of sunshine and cloud. Winds will pick up in to the evening gusting 20 to 30 mph. It will become milder as the day goes on. We are going to see rain move in later in the day and this will become heavy at times. Temps of 2C to 8C and winds will be from the North and North East.
Tuesday – Low pressure in the North Sea will bring spells of rain across the Western Isles. This will be heaviest during the early hours of Tuesday morning. Turning showery once the heavier of the rain clears away mid morning. It will be a fairly windy day. Winds gusting 30 to 40 mph at times gusting 50 mph. Winds will be from the North and North West. Temps of 5C to 8C
Wednesday – High pressure builds in across the country on Wednesday. We are going to see some patchy rain but for most it will be mainly fine and dry. Overcast conditions with some sunny spells. It will feel milder and winds will be under 20 mph. Winds will be from the South and South East and temps of 5C to 8C
UK forecast
Monday a dry start for most but low pressure brings rain then snow into the East coast of Scotland and North East England winds will increase here. Tuesday dry in the South but low pressure dominates with rain and sunny spells. The area of low pressure weakens. Wednesday high pressure builds in with rain moving into the West later but weakens.
