Good afternoon and welcome to Wednesday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.
On this Wednesday afternoon we are seeing some rain across North Uist and Harris. Drier elsewhere with plenty of cloud. Todays high of 7.6C and winds under 20 mph.

Western Isles forecast – (UK forecast to follow)
Thursday – Low pressure dominates the weather across large parts of the UK on Thursday. Spells of rain which will be heavy at times. Some longer spells of rain. Becoming lighter at times. The cloud dominates with some sunny spells. Winds gusting 30 to 40 mph. Winds will be from the South East and temps of 6C to 10C
Friday – A broad area of low pressure sits across the UK. We are going to see further spells of rain. This will be heavy during the early hours of Friday. The cloud will dominate with some sunny spells. winds gusting 20 to 40 mph from the South East. Temps of 5C to 10C
Saturday – Another overcast day. We are going to see some morning rain but this will clear away and allow for some sunshine as the day goes on with some clear spells after sunset. Winds will be under 20 mph. Winds will be from the East and South East. Temps of 5C to 10C. A slack airflow persists across the UK.
UK forecast
Thursday rain moves across the UK drierest in the South and East. Heavy rain in the far South West of England. Friday rain and showers for most becoming drier for central England. Becoming drier and brighter everywhere on Saturday but some rain for Orkney and Shetland.
