Friday forecast – Wet and blustery

Good evening Western Isles on this Thursday evening we are seeing a band of heavy rain slowly moving across the Western Isles. Today’s high of 9.0c. Winds gusting 30 to 40 mph.

Overnight – Further spells of rain. These will be heavy at times. Some clear spells at times but the cloud will largely dominate. Driest for Lewis. Winds of 20 to 40 mph strongest for the Uists and Barra.

Morning and afternoon – More rain heaviest across the Uists, Barra and Harris. Some sunny spells at times. Rain for Lewis but lighter here. Plenty of cloud. Winds of 10 to 25 mph.

Evening – Further spells of rain. Heaviest of the rain across Harris and North Uist. Showery elsewhere with plenty of cloud. A few clear spells. Winds under 20 mph.

Winds will be from the South East. Temps of 6C to 10C
