Good afternoon and welcome to Friday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.
On this Friday afternoon we are seeing rain and drizzle moving across the Western Isles. Heavy in spots with some overcast dry spells for Lewis. Winds under 20 mph. Today high so far of 9.3C

Western Isles forecast – (UK forecast to follow)
Saturday – Low pressure dominates the weather across the UK. We are going to see overcast conditions with some sunshine at times. The best of the sunshine will be across the Uists and Barra. Some morning rain for Lewis and Harris. This will clear away to overcast conditions with some sunny spells. Some mist and fog patches into the evening where it will become colder. A brief ride of high pressure builds across the country with areas of low pressure to the West and one in the North Sea. Winds will be variable and temps of 4C to 9C
Sunday – A broad area of low pressure to the West of Ireland 965 mb will bring windy weather across the Western Isles on Sunday. Winds gusting 30 to 40 mph. Spells of rain which will be heavy at times. The heaviest being in the afternoon and evening. Winds will be from the South East. Temps of 5C to 8C but feeling colder in the wind chill.
Monday – Low pressure dominates across the UK with low pressure to the West of Ireland 971 mb. We are going to see winds of 20 to 40 mph. Spell of showers. These heavy at times with some sunny spells. Winds will be from the South and South East. Temps of 7C to 10C but feeling cool in the wind chill.

Saturday rain and showers for most but. becoming drier and brighter with some sunshine. Brisk winds. Sunday we are going to see rain move across the entire UK which will be persistent at times with snow over higher ground. Staying fairly windy. Monday sunshine and showers but becoming drier later for most. Winds will be brisk.
