Good afternoon and welcome to Sunday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.
On this Sunday afternoon we are seeing some heavy and in spots persistent rain. Drier slots for South Uist and Barra. Windy as well. Winds gusting 40 to 50 mph and todays high of 8.0c so far.

We are under a Scottish Environment Protection Agency flood alert for the Western Isles and 3 flood warnings.

Western Isles forecast – (UK forecast to follow)
Monday – low pressure still dominates our weather across the Western Isles. We are going to see rain and showers. These heavy at times with some sunny spells. It will be a day of blustery winds with winds gusting 30 to 40 mph. Winds will be from the South and South East. Temps of 7C to 10C but feeling colder in the wind chill.
Tuesday – Low pressure dominates to our West. We are going to see a day of sunshine and scattered showers. some of these showers will be heavy at times. Winds gusting 20 to 40 mph. Strongest for the Uist and Barra. Some decent spells of sunshine in the breaks in the cloud. Winds will be from the South and temps of 6C to 10C but feeling colder in the wind chill.
Wednesday – Low pressure moves into Ireland during Wednesday and will dominate the days weather. It will fill as it approaches us and become weaker. We will see a dry sunny start with plenty of cloud. Winds will increase for the Uist and Barra. Then the rain will eventually arrive into Lewis and Harris.
UK forecast
Monday rain in the West and South East England becoming drier and brighter later for most. Tuesday low pressure will move in Ireland bringing rain to Wales. West Scotland and Northern Ireland with blustery winds but drier in the East. Wednesday sunshine and rain for most. Heavy at times with blustery winds.
