Good afternoon and welcome to Sunday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.
On this Sunday afternoon we are seeing spells of rain moving across the Western isles. These are heavy in places. Slow moving. Winds gusting 30 to 45 mph. Today’s high of 8.7C

Western Isles forecast – (UK forecast to follow)
Monday – Low pressure sits to our North. Weather fronts linger across Scotland. We are going to see spells of rain which will be heavy at times. We are going to see a colder day with some sunshine the best of this will be during the afternoon. The evening will see a scattering of showers. A mixture of clear skies and cloud so a risk of some frost and ice. Winds will be from the West and South West. Winds of 10 to 30 mph. Temps of 3C to 8C colder for Lewis and Harris.
Tuesday – A mainly overcast day with some sunny spells. We are going to see mainly fine and dry conditions with a few scattered showers. It will feel cold again. A risk of frost and ice into the evening. Winds will be from the West and South West under 20 mph. Temps of 2C to 7C
Wednesday – Cold air sinks across the UK with a low pressure system South West of England. We are going to see a mainly fine and dry day. Sunshine and variable amounts of cloud. Winds under 20 mph. A few scattered showers and the odd wintry one cannot be ruled out. Winds will be from the North and North East. Temps of 1C to 7C
