Week ahead forecast – Becoming colder

Welcome to the week ahead forecast. The full in depth forecast for Monday can be found in the update below this one. This weekend was a mixed weekend with rain and showers for most some decent sunshine.

Tuesday -A mainly overcast day with some sunny spells. We are going to see mainly fine and dry conditions with a few scattered showers. It will feel cold again. A risk of frost and ice into the evening. Winds will be from the West and South West under 20 mph. Temps of 2C to 7C

Wednesday – Colder air sinks across the UK with a low pressure system South West of England. We are going to see a mainly fine and dry day. Sunshine and variable amounts of cloud. Winds under 20 mph. A few scattered showers and the odd wintry one cannot be ruled out. Winds will be from the North and North East. Temps of 1C to 7C

Thursday – Spells of rain across the islands but becoming drier later. We could see some wintry showers first thing. Brisk winds and feeling cold with colder air sitting across the Western Isles. Winds will be from the North and North West. Temps of 3C to 6C

Friday – A cold start cloud increasing. it will become milder with scattered showers with rain moving in later. Overcast conditions. Winds gusting 30 to 40 mph at times reaching 50 mph.

Next weekend – Colder and possibly wintry.
