Hello all, Earlier today the Met Office named the second storm of 2020/21 storm season Storm Bella. In this blog we are going to take a look at the warnings and the expected impacts alongside any impacts for us in the Western Isles.
Multiple weather warning have been issued by the Met Office
An Amber warning for wind from 2200 Boxing day evening till 0900 Sunday.
and a yellow weather warning of winds for much of England and Wales

impacts for the Western Isles
So for us in the Western Isles it will be a windy day on Boxing day we are going to see winds gusting 30 to 40 mph at times reaching 50 mph strongest for Uists and Barra. The very worst of the stormy weather will be well to our south. We are going to see a day of heavy and at times slow moving rain. A flood alert has been issued by the Scottish Environment protection agency.
