Good morning Western Isles this is your Sunday morning brief
On this Sunday morning, we are seeing rain, sleet and snow showers moving across the Western isles. Many parts of the islands have seen a covering of snow today. Winds gusting 40 to 50 mph for Uist and Barra. Under 10 mph for Lewis. Temps have dropped close to freezing overnight but have recovered for parts of the Uist and Barra up to 6C

Today – Further wintry showers with snow at times. Some of these heavy at times. Squally showers and there is a risk some of these could be thundery. Some sunshine but the cloud largely dominating. Some of the wintry showers falling as rain. Winds gusting 20 to 40 mph. Some gusts reaching 50 mph for Uist and Barra. Frost and ice likely as well. Winds will be from the North and North East. Temps of -2C to 6C
Monday – Sunshine and showers with blustery winds.
Tuesday – mainly dry cold with sunshine and cloud. Risk of Gales
Wednesday – Breezy with a risk of some wintry showers.
