Tuesday’s forecast – Cold again

On this Monday evening, we are seeing some rain and showers mainly confined to Western coasts. A mixture of clear skies and cloud. Winds gusting 30 mph under 20 mph for Lewis and Harris. Today’s high of 6.0C

Overnight – We are going to see rain and squally showers. These heavy and at times wintry. Some clear skies with risk of frost and ice. Winds of 20 to 40 mph.

Morning and afternoon – Sunshine and squally showers. These showers heavy at times and some of them will be wintry. Could see some sleet and snow showers as the afternoon progress. Some decent spells of sunshine in the breaks in the cloud. Winds of 20 to 40 mph

Evening – Increasing amounts of sleet and snow showers. Some uncertainty but we could see a covering of snow in some places, the greatest risk over higher ground. A widespread frost and ice. Winds of 0 to 20 mph.

Winds will be from the North and North West. Temps of -1C to 6C
