Weather Watch 28th December 2020

Good evening and welcome to Monday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.

On this Monday afternoon we are seeing rain in the Atlantic. Most places fine and dry with some sunshine variable amounts of cloud. Winds of 40 to 50 mph. High of 6C so far.

Western Isles forecast – (UK forecast to follow)

Tuesday – We are going to see a day of sunshine and showers once again. Wintry at times especially into the evening. A cold day today. Winds of 20 to 40 mph. Low pressure dominates. With brisk winds coming down from the North. Feeling cold again with the risk of frost and ice. Temps of 1C to 6C

Wednesday – Again a chance of some overnight sleet and snow. Wintry showers. With low pressure to our East and cold air moving down from the North. It will be a cold day but winds will easing. Some sunny spells but the cloud dominating. Risk of frost and ice. Winds under 20 mph from the North West. Temps of -1C to 6C

Thursday – As high pressure still sits out in the Atlantic we are going to see further cold air coming down from the North with some wintry showers and some sunny spells. Rain later. Low pressure sits to the South East of the UK. Winds of 10 to 30 mph winds will be from the North and North East.

UK Weather News

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice for Wednesday morning into Thursday morning for England and Wales.

The Met Office have also issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice for large parts of the UK from 18:00 this evening and overnight into tomorrow morning at 10:00.
