Good afternoon and welcome to Tuesday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.
On this Tuesday afternoon we are seeing rain and sleet showers. Some clear skies in between plenty of cloud. Winds gusting 20 to 30 mph. Todays high of 6C so far.

A reminder we are under a Met Office yellow weather warning for snow and ice until 23:59 tomorrow evening.

Western Isles 3 day forecast
Wednesday – A cold airflow persists across the UK. A low pressure system moves across southern England and high pressure blocks the Atlantic on Wednesday. We are going to see sleet and snow showers overnight Tuesday into Wednesday with widespread frost and ice. Into Wednesday further snow showers turning increasingly to sleet and rain. Some sunshine. It will stay cold and icy for much of the day before another hard frost tomorrow evening. Winds of 10 to 30 mph gusting 30 mph for Uist and Barra. Winds will be from the North and North West. Temps of -2C to 6C
Thursday – Little change with a cold airflow and high pressure dominating in the Atlantic. We are going to see a day of sunshine and wintry showers across the Western Isles. Some of these at times will fall as sleet and snow. Another cold day with some sunny spells but largely overcast. Winds will be from the North under 20 mph. Temps of 1C to 7C but feeling colder in the wind chill.
Friday – Little change. High pressure dominates with a cold airflow. Weather fronts move away so we are likely to be a drier day. An overcast and mainly dry with a few sunny spells. Some scattered showers. Winds of 10 to 30 mph. Winds will be from the North and North East. Temps of 0C to 6C but feeling colder in the wind chill.
