Friday’s forecast – A cold start to the New Year

Good evening Western Isles on this Thursday evening we are seeing some rain and showers moving across the islands. These are heavy in places. Driest for Uist and Barra. Todays high of 5.6C

Overnight – Wea re going to see a mixture of clear skies and cloud with a few scattered showers. These will be heavy and wintry at times. Some frost and ice. Winds of 10 to 30 mph.

Morning and afternoon – Sunshine and cloud. A few scattered showers. These at times heavy and wintry. In the late afternoon some of these will turn to snow. Winds of 10 to 25 mph.

Evening – A mixture of clear skies and scattered wintry showers and these in places falling as snow. Some frost and ice once again. Winds under 20 mph.

Winds will be from the North. Temps of -2C to 5C

Saturday – Wintry showers cold dry overcast light winds.

Sunday and Monday – Hard frost blue skies and sunshine with light winds ( I know right!)
