Impacts for the Western isles
As long time readers will know I hate forecasting snow with a passion. The next 36 hours once again looks tricky. The band of rain moving across the islands at the moment is giving us some sleet and snow. Behind it we will start to sleet and snow showers and these will be on and off throughout the night and into tomorrow. Again increasing in frequency at times. Greatest risk of snowfall accumulations will be over higher ground but we could see snow to low levels for a time in the build up in. Lots of uncertainty and some places it will be a rain and sleet mixture. The greatest snowfall will be over mainland Scotland. We are going to see another hard frost this evening and overnight. It will also be cold and icy for most of the day tomorrow. It has gotten a little milder today. It will be also cold and icy once more on Friday. It will start to thankfully become milder this weekend.

There are also road cameras on the Clisham and Barvas Moor which a good way to look at the wintry conditions.
