Thursday’s forecast – Cold and wintry

Good evening Western Isles on this Wednesday evening we are seeing rain moving across the islands. Some sleet and rain in between. Today’s high of 5.6c so far. Winds gusting 10 to 30 mph.

Overnight – We are going to see the heavy rain clear away. A mixture of clear skies and cloud. Some showers and some of these wintry with sleet and snow. We could see a covering of snow in some places. The greatest risk will be over higher ground and once again a hard frost with temps down to -1C. Winds of 10 to 25 mph.

Morning and afternoon – A mixture of sunshine and cloud. Some decent sunshine at times. Further wintry showers with rain and sleet. Some snow showers once again. Staying frosty and icy. Winds of 10 to 30 mph.

Evening – Further sleet and snow showers. Some of these will be heavy at times. Some of these falling as rain. Winds of 10 to 30 mph. A mixture of clear skies and cloud with a hard frost.

Winds will be from the North and North West. Temps of -1C to 5C
