Good morning Western Isles this is your Friday morning brief
On this Friday morning, we are seeing a cold start to the day. Most places are seeing snow and ice this morning. Further wintry showers and a mixture of clear skies and cloud. Winds under 10 mph. Overnight low of -1.7C at South Uist but a few places have had lower temperatures.

Today – Further wintry showers but these should decrease in frequency as the day goes on. We are going to see some decent spells of sunshine in the breaks in the cloud. Widespread frost and ice that will persist throughout the day. Temps will struggle above freezing today max highs expected to be 4C. Winds under 20 mph but gusting 30 mph this evening. Winds will be from the North West but coming from the South West from mid afternoon.
Saturday – Milder with spells of rain. This rain will be heavy at times. Blustery winds.
Sunday – Wet and windy with a risk of gales winds gusting 40 to 50 mph.
Monday – Blustery showers and these will be wintry at times.
