On this Friday evening we are seeing rai heavy moving across the Western Isles. Lewis is dry for now. Winds gusting 30 to 50 mph some gusts reaching 60 mph for Uist and Barra. Today’s high of 6.7C so far. `

Western Isles 3 day weather forecast
Saturday – Low pressure dominates the weather on Saturday. Low pressure 986 mb. We are going to see overnight winds gusting 40 to 60 mph. Heavy rain pushing into all parts. Into Saturday itself spells of rain heavy at times some showers. Cloud dominating. Winds of 20 to 40 mph. Some gusts reaching 50 mph at times. Winds will be from the West and South West. Temps of 3C to 9C but feeling colder in the wind chill.
Sunday – In between high pressure to the South of us and low over Iceland we are going to see a day of sunshine and showers. Winds gusting 20 to 40 mph with some sunny spells. Winds will be from the West. Temps of 3C to 9C but feeling colder in the wind chill.
Monday – Low pressure stays over Iceland. We are going to see a day of sunshine and showers. These will be heavy at times. Winds gusting 20 to 40 mph from the West. Temps of 2C to 7C

More snow on the way across the UK overnight into Saturday
An Amber warning has been issued for East of England for snow from 05:00 Saturday morning till 14:00 Saturday afternoon.
There is also a yellow weather warning for snow in force for south East England from 03:00 Saturday till 20:00 Saturday evening.
A Snow and Ice warning also remains in place for large parts of the UK from 0000 Saturday morning till 18:00 Saturday afternoon.
