On this Saturday afternoon we are seeing rain and showers moving across the Western isles. Heavy in places. Winds gusting 40 to 50 mph. Today’s high so far of 8.1C

It has been a windy and wet 24 hours across the islands with 69 mph at South Uist range last night at 23:00.

Western Isles 3 day weather forecast
Sunday – high pressure builds across the UK and we are going to see low pressure over Iceland. Sunday will be slightly less windy than Saturday gusting 20 to 40 mph. Once again we are going to see sunshine and showers. These will merge into some longer spells of rain which will be heavy at times. Winds will be from the West and South West. Temps of 3C to 8C.
Monday – Low pressure still sits over Iceland 990 mb. Another developing weather system will to the South West will move across the UK. We are going to see blustery winds once again 20 to 40 mph. Some sunshine and a few scattered showers. Some of these will be heavy at times. Winds will be from the West and temps of 1C to 7C becoming colder into the evening.
Tuesday – Low pressure moves into Ireland and settled conditions over Scotland. We are expecting to see a fine dry and cold day. Overcast with some sunny spells. Winds will be light under 20 mph. Winds will be from the West and North West. Temps of 1C to 4C
