Storm Christoph – 19th January evening update.

This is an update to the earlier blog with the latest on Storm Christoph.

Here are the highest rainfall totals so from supplied from the Met Office covering 0000 Tuesday until 18:00 Tuesday evening.

The latest warning graphic and highlights the rain risk which will then become a snow risk as the week goes on

Good afternoon all Storm Christoph is bringing heavy rain and blustery winds across the UK today. In this latest blog we give you an update on the latest warnings and latest impacts. Also if there will be any impacts for the Western Isles.

The snow warning has been update for Northern Scotland for Thursday.

Another weather warning for snow is in place for Wednesday into Thursday for parts of Scotland.

Here is some of the impacts from storm Christoph so far. One of the wettest places so far is Aberllefenni.

Lots of concern in West Yorkshire

According to BBC News a major incident has been declared in South Yorkshire ahead of storm Christoph.

Impacts for the Western Isles.

No weather impacts for us in the Western isles for Tuesday and Wednesday. No weather warnings have been issued at this stage but we are going to see winds gusting 40 to 50 mph. At times possibly reaching 60 mph at times. Spells of rain and wintry showers. As storm Christoph moves out into the North Sea. These wind speeds nothing to unusual for us in the Western Isles.
