Thursday’s forecast – Cold and windy

Good evening Western Isles on this Wednesday evening we are seeing a mixed bag of weather conditions across the islands. Rain, sleet and snow showers. Dry in some places. Frost and ice as well. Winds under 20 mph but some gusts reaching 30 mph. Today’s high temp of 4.6C

Overnight – We are going to see blustery winds and winds gusting 20 to 40 mph at times reaching 50 mph. Rain and showers these heavy at times and we could see some of the showers turning wintry at times. Frost and ice in sheltered locations. Some clear skies. Overnight lows down to 2/3C

Morning and afternoon – Sunshine and showers. These again will be heavy at times. Some wintry showers with sleet and some snow mixed. Some decent spells of sunshine in between. Wind of 20 to 40 mph at times gusting 50 mph.

Evening – Further frequent showers and these wintry at times. We could see some snow showers for the evening. A mixture of clear skies and cloud. Wind of 20 to 40 mph at times gusting 50 mph.

Winds will be from the North and North East. Temps of 2C to 6C but feeling more like -2/-3C in the wind chill.
