On this Wednesday afternoon we are seeing a mixture of sunshine and cloud with a few showers. These heavy in places. Plenty of prolonged sunshine. Winds under 10 mph. Today’s high so far of 4.6C

Western Isles 3 day weather forecast
Thursday – Storm Christoph sits out in the North Sea 954 mb. It will bring strong winds across parts of the UK. For the Western Isles we are going to see winds gusting 20 to 40 mph some gusts could reach 50 mph at times. A mixture of sunshine and showers. Some of these heavy and possibly wintry at times. It will feel cold in the North and North East winds. Temps of 1C to 7C.
Friday – Storm Christoph moves towards Norway and winds slowly ease across the UK to leave more settled conditions. We are going to see further blustery winds with sleet and snow showers. Falling as rain at times for the Uists and Barra. Winds gusting 20 to 40 mph. Some sunshine at times but the cloud mainly dominating. Temps of -1C to 5C
Saturday – Staying unsettled and cold in the Western Isles on Saturday we are going to see a day of sunshine and blustery showers. Some of these showers will be wintry at times with sleet and snow. Winds will be around 10 to 20 mph with some gusts reaching 30 mph. Winds will be from the West and North West. Temps of -1C to 6C

A Met Office yellow weather warning for ice has been issued for Wednesday at 18:00 till Thursday at 10:00 the warning covers Northern Ireland.
A snow and ice warning has also been issued for Northern Scotland. This warning expires at 23:59 this evening.
An Amber warning for snow has been issued for parts of Scotland
