Monday’s forecast – In a rut

Good evening Western Isles on this Sunday evening we are seeing spells of rain heavy at times with some sleet and snow. Some clear skies but many overcast. Winds under 20 mph for Uist and Barra but have been gusting to 40 mph for Lewis and Harris. Today’s high of 5.5C

A reminder we remain under a Met Office yellow weather warning for snow and ice across the Western Isles until 11:00 Monday morning the full warning and latest updates can be found via the Met Office website or app.

Overnight – We are going to see some rain and showers. Some of these wintry in places. Frost and ice widely but a little milder for Uist and Barra. Plenty of clear skies and cloud. Winds of 10 to 30 mph.

Morning and afternoon – Some sunshine decent spells of sunshine. Frost and ice which will be combined with snowmelt which will leave to some difficult conditions. A few showers heavy at times possibly wintry. Winds under 20 mph.

Evening – Becoming mostly fine and dry with clear skies and cloud. The odd scattered shower possibly wintry. Under the clearing skies, we are going to see a widespread frost and ice.

Winds will be from the North and North West. Temps of -1C to 5C
