Weather Watch 24th January 2021

Good afternoon and welcome to Sunday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.

On this Sunday afternoon we are seeing rain sleet and snow showers moving across the Western Isles. These heavy in places. The cloud is dominating with some clear skies. Winds under 20 mph. Todays high so far of 5.3C

Monday – Across the Western Isles on Monday with light winds and a cold day. Widespread frost and ice again overnight. We are going to see sunshine and cloud. A few wintry sleet and snow showers. Some of these are feeling as rain at times. Another overnight widespread frost as we go overnight into Tuesday. Winds will be from the North and North East winds under 20 mph. Temps of -1C to 9C

Tuesday – Developing weather systems start to move in the UK. Staying fairly settled across the Western Isles. The cloud will dominate with spells of rain. It will be another cold and icy start to the day. Winds of 10 to 30 mph. Winds will be from the East and South East. Temps of -1C to 5C

Wednesday – Weather fronts slowly move in the UK on Wednesday but they looks to stall. Across the Western Isles we are going to see overcast conditions with some wintry showers. A risk of frost and ice once again but we are likely to see some milder conditions at times. Winds will be from the East and South East. Temps of 2C to 6C

The Met Office has just issued an Amber warning for snow for parts of the Midlands

There has been some high snowfall totals across the UK.
