Good afternoon and welcome to Tuesday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.
On this Tuesday afternoon we are seeing rain moving across most of the Western Isles. This is heavy in places and wintry in spots with some sleet and snow. Drier for Lewis and Harris. But rain will move into Harris later. Winds of 10 to 30 mph. Today’s high of 4.9C

Wednesday – Weather fronts lingering across the UK on Wednesday. For us in the Western Isles it’s expected to be a fine and dry day. A risk of frost and ice once again at the start and the end of the day. Some decent and prolonged spells of sunshine. A few scattered showers. Winds will be from the East and North East around 10 to 30 mph. Temps of 2C to 6C
Thursday – Low pressure builds to the West of the UK 977 mb and will bring spells of rain and snow of the UK. It will be an overcast day with some rain for Uist and Barra. Some heavy overnight into Wednesday. Rain and showers into the evening. For Lewis and Harris mainly dry but overcast. Winds will be from the East and North East. Temps of 2C to 5C
Friday – Weather fronts sit across the Southern half of the UK. High pressure builds across the Western Isles. We are going to see high pressure moving across the Western isles. It will be another cold day with frost and ice again. We are going to see plenty of blue skies and sunshine. Winds will be from the East and North East. Temps of 1C to 6C

The Met Office have updated the yellow weather warning for Snow England and Scotland for today.
Another snow warning has been issued for Thursday into Friday morning for Scotland and North England.
Also a yellow weather warning has been issued for rain for North West England.
