Good afternoon and welcome to Thursday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.
On this Thursday afternoon we are seeing heavy rain sweeping across the Western Isles with winds gusting 20 to 40 mph and in places gusting 50 mph. Some of the rain falling as sleet. Today’s high of 5.0C so far.

Friday – Some overnight rain but this will clear away to a fine dry and sunny day. Brisk winds. Variable amounts of cloud. Into the evening clear skies and cloud with risk of frost and ice. Winds of 20 to 40 mph from the East and North East. Temps of 1C to 6C. High pressure builds across the Western Isles. Low pressure in the North Sea.
Saturday – High pressure builds in further across the Western Isles. With low pressure sits across the Southern half of the UK and will bring snow and rain here. Across the Western Isles we are going to see a fine and dry day with sunshine and cloud. Once more frost and ice in the morning and evening. Winds of 10 to 30 mph with winds coming from the North East. Temps of -1C to 5C
Sunday – High pressure remains across the Western Isles. Low pressure to the West of Ireland. We are going to see a bitterly cold day with frost and ice widely again. A mixture of sunshine and with variable amount of cloud. Winds will be from variable directions and temps of -2C to 4C
