Weather Watch 31st January 2021

Good afternoon and welcome to Sunday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.

On this Sunday afternoon we are seeing a mainly fine and dry conditions with clear skies and cloud. Temps are at or below freezing. Winds under 20 mph. Today’s high of 3.5C

A reminder we a Met Office yellow weather warning for snow has been issued for Lewis and parts of Harris from Midnight Monday till 12:00 Monday afternoon. Monday – Overnight we are going to see sleet and snow showers with a risk of some accumulations of snow in places. A widespread frost and ice. We are going to see some decent prolonged spells of sunshine. A few scattered showers but most places staying dry. Clear skies after sunset with another frost and ice. Winds of 10 to 30 mph stronger into the evening. Winds will be from the East and North East. Temps of -1C to 5C

Tuesday – Low pressure sits close to Ireland and as result we will see blustery Easterly winds. It will be a mainly fine and dry day. Winds gusting 20 to 40 mph. Some gusts reaching 50 mph. Winds will be from the East and North East. Temps of -1C to 5C but feeling colder in the wind chill.

Wednesday – Low pressure sits close to Ireland and as result we will see blustery Easterly winds. It will be a mainly fine and dry day. Winds gusting 20 to 40 mph. Some gusts reaching 50 mph. Winds will be from the East and North East. Temps of 2C to 5C but feeling colder in the wind chill. (if you spotted it you are right almost an identical forecast).
