Good afternoon and welcome to Wednesday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.
On this Wednesday afternoon we are seeing mainly fine and dry conditions with clear skies and sunshine and variable amounts of cloud more for Uist and Barra. A few scattered showers. Winds of 20 to 40 mph with today’s high so far of 4.6C

Thursday – Low pressure still sits over Ireland 1000 mb. It will bring rain and snow to large parts of Scotland. In the Western Isles we are going to see mainly fine and dry conditions with the cloud dominating. Winds of 20 to 40 mph. Into the evening we are going to see some rain moving across the islands with some sleet and snow showers at times. Winds will be from the North East around 20 to 40 mph at times reaching 50 mph. Temps of 1C to 4C
Friday – Low pressure sits over Ireland 1001 mb. In the Western Isles we are going to see some overnight sleet and snow showers. Some longer spells of snow are possible for a time. Winds will be from the East and North East. Into the evening conditions are expected to improve with sunshine and cloud. Winds of 20 to 40 mph. Temps of -1C to 5C.
Saturday – Low pressure finally moves away but we are still going to see some wintry showers. We are going to see mainly fine and dry conditions once the showers clear away. Sunshine and cloud. Feeling cold again. Winds will be from the East around 10 to 30 mph. Temps of -1C to 4C
