Good afternoon and welcome to Thursday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.
On this Thursday afternoon we are seeing wintry showers and rain moving across the Western Isles. This heavy in places. Todays high of 3.6C and winds gusting 20 to 40 mph.
Winds later this evening will gust 40 to 50 mph possibly 55 mph in places. Heavy rain and wintry showers. possibly some snow falling for a time greatest risk over higher grounds.

Friday – Overnight heavy rain with sleet and snow. The cloud dominating. Into Friday we are going to see further spells of rain and wintry showers becoming drier in the evening. Overnight winds gusting 20 to 40 mph.. Some winds gusting to 50 to 55 mph for a time. Wind of 20 to 40 mph during the day tomorrow. Winds will be from the East and North East. Temps of 1C to 5C but feeling colder in the wind chill.
Saturday – The cold air continues across the UK with further snow. In the Western Isles we will see some sleet and snow showers. But for most it will be dry day overcast. Clear skies and frost and ice likely in the late evening. Winds of 10 to 25 mph from the East feeling cold still. Temps of 1C to 5C
Sunday – Further snow showers across the UK. Staying cold across the Western isles we are going to see a bitterly cold day with winds coming in from the East. Some showers will be wintry at times. Frost and ice in places. Temps struggling above freezing. Winds gusting 20 to 40 mph. Temps of -1C to 3C
