Good afternoon and welcome to Monday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.
On this Monday afternoon we are seeing a mixture of clear skies and cloud. A few wintry sleet and snow showers. Frost and ice widely. Winds gusting 10 to 30 mph and today’s high of 1.8C so far.

Tuesday – We are going to see another cold and icy day with widespread frost and ice. Some overnight wintry showers. Into Tuesday daytime some decent and prolonged sunshine. Variable amounts of cloud. A few wintry showers. Winds of 10 to 25 mph from the East and temps of -2C to 3C
Wednesday – High pressure sits across the UK. We are seeing a developing area of low pressure in the Atlantic 971 mb. Widespread frost and ice once again across the Western Isles with some decent and prolonged sunshine with variable amounts of cloud. Most places are expected to stay dry but some wintry showers cannot be ruled out. Temps will struggle to get much above freezing. Winds under 20 mph from the East and South East. Temps of -2C to 4C
Thursday – Low pressure starts to slow move in the UK on Thursday with high pressure sitting to the East. Now a cold and icy start to the day but winds will start to increase. Some sunshine but cloud will increase into the evening. Winds will gust 20 to 40 mph by the end of the day. Some gusts reaching 50 mph for Uist and Barra. Winds will be from the South East. Some showers but most places should stay dry. Temps of -1C to 4C
