Good afternoon and welcome to Tuesday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.
On this Tuesday afternoon we are seeing blue skies and sunshine. Wall to wall sunshine in places. Some wintry showers. Winds under 20 mph. Todays high so far of 2.2C

Wednesday – We are going to see another cold and icy day. Wintry showers. Some decent and prolonged spells of sunshine with high pressure in charge across the UK. Frost and ice widely again. Winds of 10 to 25 mph from the East and South East. Temps of -2C to 3C
Thursday – Low pressure starts to move in off the Atlantic. High pressure to the East. A dry cold and icy start. Sunshine and cloud during the day but cloud increases into the evening. Winds under 20 mph to start the day. Gusting 20 to 40 mph later and some gusts reaching 50 mph. A few scattered showers but most places dry. Winds will be from the South East. Temps of -2C to 5C
Friday – Low pressure and tight isobars in the West with high pressure firmly to the East. It will be a mainly overcast day with some sunshine. Sleet and snow showers moving in later across the Western Isles. Winds widely gusting 20 to 40 mph for Uist and Barra gusting 50 to 60 mph. Winds will be from the South East. Feeling very cold in the wind chill. Temps of 1C to 5C

A Yellow weather warning of snow and ice has been issued for snow and Ice for Thursday until Friday at 12:00.
