Hello all a number of Weather warnings have been issued for the Western Isles this weekend. In this blog we have all the very latest and the impacts for the Western Isles.
A Met Office yellow weather warning for snow and ice has been issued for Saturday. The warning comes into force at 09:00 Saturday morning and expires at 22:00 Saturday evening
We are going to see some accumulations of snow to lower levels for a time but again the greatest risk will be over higher ground. Ice for us will be less of an impact away from sheltered spots due to the strong winds.
A met Office yellow weather warning for wind has also been issued for Sunday. The warning comes into force at 04:00 and expires at 23:59 Sunday evening.

This wind warning concerns me more then the snow and ice warning. With a lot of disruption from ferries and possible road closures with high tides. Also winds gusting 70 to 80 mph and the strongest of these across the Uist and Barra. My daily forecast will keep you updated.
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency has issued a flood alert for the Western Isles and two flood warnings for Southford and Berneray causeway.
