Tuesday forecast – More wind then a baked bean factory

Good evening Western Isles on this Monday evening we are seeing a few scattered showers but a mainly dry end to the day. Largely overcast with some clear skies. Winds of 10 to 30 mph. Today’s high of 9.0C

A Met Office yellow weather warning for wind comes into force at 04:00 Tuesday and expires at 18:00 Tuesday evening. The full warning and latest updates via the Met Office website or app.

Overnight – We are going to see rain moving across the Western Isles. This rain will be heavy at times. Winds will increase gusting 40 to 50 mph gusting 60 mph for Uist and Barra.

Morning and afternoon – Further spells of rain heavy at times. Becoming showery as we go into the afternoon. In the dry spells in between some decent spells of sunshine. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 to 60 mph. At times gusting 70 to possibly 75 mph strongest will be for Uist and Barra.

Evening – Clear skies and cloud with showers but these becoming more scattered. Winds of 20 to 40 mph some gusts reaching 50 mph.

Winds will be from the South West. Temps of 5C to 9C
