Good afternoon and welcome to Wednesday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.
On this Wednesday evening we are seeing strong winds gusting 40 to 60 mph. Heavy rain and showers with hail mixed in some of these are thundery in nature. Todays high so far of 7.4C
A reminder we remain under a Met Office yellow weather warning for wind until 22:00 this evening.

Thursday – Low pressure moves to our east across Scotland. We are going to see heavy rain overnight and into the morning. The rain will be persistent at times. Rain and showers for the afternoon and evening. Winds of 10 to 30 mph gusting 40 mph. Some sunny spells. Winds will be from variable directions and temps of 3C to 7C
Friday – The next area of low pressure moves to the West of the UK bringing strong winds and again spells of heavy rain. Once again further spells of heavy rain for the Western Isles. The heaviest of this will be during the morning and early afternoon before becoming showery later with some sunny spells. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 to possibly 60 mph for Uist and Barra. Winds will be from the South and South East. Temps of 6C to 9C
Saturday – Low pressure sits to the South West of the UK. We going to see a brisk airflow across the Western Isles with more mild air. We are going to see a day of sunshine and showers. These will be heavy at times. Some longer spells of rain. Winds of 20 to 40 mph possibly reaching 50 mph at times from the South and South West. Temps of 5C to 9C
